The roads of Napa Valley offer something for everyone. From the rolling hills of the famous Silverado Trail, to the windy creek snaking along side the slow and challenging climb up Mt. Veeder, to the newly developed class one bike path, Napa Valley Vine Trail, in the picture-perfect Michelin starred town of Yountville. Bike riding in Napa Valley is one of the best ways to experience the scents, tastes and terrain of this world-class destination location.
From Napa to the historic town of Calistoga, 26 miles north, one can easily rent bicycles; road bikes, mountain bikes, hybrids and even electric bikes are available. The towns of the Valley, and even Appellations, such as Rutherford, offer pre-planned bike routes in which one can stop at one of the 500 wineries for a sip or for a snack.
Napa Bike, the coalition that support safe cycling in the Valley, has key resources on their site for those in search of bike routes, events, stores and more. (http://www.napabike.org)
Additionally, the Napa County Planning and Transportation Committee has maps of all towns as well as important bike safety rules. Please visit http://www.nctpa.net/routes-schedules/bicycles.html
